Senior Attorney

Laura Suggs

The law has been in Laura’s blood from the beginning as she grew up the granddaughter of a Chicago real estate attorney. He made a strong impression on her for the great satisfaction he took in helping his clients. Serving people has been a consistent thread in her personal and professional life.

Laura earned her B.A. in History with a minor in French from Emory University in 1995 and attended Georgia State University College of Law, where she was awarded her J.D. in 2004. During law school she worked in the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic to serve individuals dealing with IRS troubles. Early in her career, she put her title law expertise to work to resolve an easement issue for the Community Assistance Center in Sandy Springs, a charity that assists individuals and families experiencing unexpected financial crisis.

A self-described law nerd, Laura happily digs into regular continuing education opportunities to deepen her title and contract law expertise, seeking out and studying changes in the law and assessing what they mean for real estate agents and for her clients. Balancing that serious expertise is Laura’s desire to bring some levity to closings, as these can be stressful days. She believes the key to a smooth closing is well-informed buyers and sellers. Her clients often comment on her skill at providing clear and thorough explanations for all parts of the closing process. She does what she can to create a calm atmosphere for every closing, remaining flexible when clients are unavoidably delayed by weather, airlines or other snafus. She works closely with first-time homebuyers and enjoys helping them celebrate when the deal is done.

A resident of Milton, Laura says welcoming her clients to the neighborhood and being able to help them settle in from out of state is one of the best perks of her job. She and her husband, Greg love living, working and playing in the Alpharetta/Milton area and are proud supporters of Purple Pansies (fighting pancreatic cancer), the Wills Equestrian Center and Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. She enjoys being part of the area’s equestrian community and is currently training with her new Andalusian, Cali, to become a dressage competitor. She and Greg, also play parent to two rescue mutts, Lilly and Ziggy.
