It was during law school at the University of Georgia that Carter discovered real estate was the path for him. As summer intern, he served a law firm’s residential closing practice and noticed the relieved and often excited looks on people’s faces at the closing table, when all the work was finally complete, and knew he wanted to become an expert in facilitating that result.

He was awarded his J.D. from UGA in 2020 and quickly established himself in real estate law, working with clients on residential and commercial closings, title clearances, and legal document preparation. When he came to Ganek in 2024, he had already completed thousands of real estate transactions and earned a reputation for consistently providing client-centered service. This is by design as Carter realized from the start that key to success in real estate law is flawlessly managing the details and giving each client his undivided attention.

Meeting new people and working with them to solve problems is what he looks forward to every day. In the often complicated world of real estate closings, collaborating with clients and the seasoned attorneys and staff at Ganek to get the deal done is among the more gratifying aspects of his job. Having recently prevailed after a seven-month battle with cancer, he’s gained a new perspective and sense of purpose, and clients appreciate his calm determination in the face of any obstacle.

Outside the office, Carter is an avid supporter of the Winship Cancer Institute and has raised $20,000 for research through Winship events like the 5K Race and Fashion Show. He enjoys trying new restaurants, playing pickleball and golf, and spending time with family and friends. A Birmingham native and loyal University of Georgia fan, he welcomes cool weather and fall weekends cheering on the Bulldogs with his wife, Lauren, and their dog, Charlie.
