Principal and Managing Attorney

Steve Golden

A graduate of University of Georgia, Steve completed his Bachelor’s degree in political science in 1989. At John Marshall Law School, he discovered his interest in real property law, drawn by its collaborative nature, where the vast majority of deals feature parties working together towards a common goal. He served as an intern in the Governor’s Office and graduated Marshall magna cum laude, second in his class, delivering the salutatorian address during commencement. That same love of learning has followed him through the years as he enjoys delving into legal nuances and changes on a daily basis.

Steve brings 30 years’ experience in real estate law to supporting his clients’ aspirations to home ownership and the American dream. He’s always on the lookout for opportunities to go above and beyond, for example, traveling to probate court for a client, a young widow, when her probate lawyer failed to secure a timely hearing. He worked with the judge to expedite the process so she could clear her home’s title and get the funds she needed to support her kids.

He counts among his influences his uncles and grandmother. From them he learned the importance of service and a compelling work ethic, and he strives to instill that mindset of servant leadership in his team at Ganek. That team – his “work family” – of attorneys and paralegals aim always to create positive experiences for clients and for the realtors who entrust them with their homebuyers and sellers.

Giving back is important to Steve. He has sponsored fundraisers for Jessie’s House, which is a residence that has provided a safe home to more than 1,100 girls. He ran for Man of the Year for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in 2016, raising thousands to support research, and also supports Mustang Rescue Ranch.

He and his wife, Gretchen, are grateful to live in beautiful Milton, with its leafy, winding roads, equestrian culture and close-knit community. They have four sons, ages 15 to 28.
